Eligibility Is Not the Same as Approval

An investment can appear on the TAMS 3 eligible-items list and still not be selected for grant aid in a particular tranche. Eligibility asks whether the applicant and investment meet the scheme rules; ranking and selection determine which eligible applications are approved when demand exceeds the available budget. Neither an adviser’s estimate nor a seller’s assurance is an approval letter.

What Tranche 10’s Published Figures Show

The Department of Agriculture’s March 2026 announcement illustrates the difference. It said Tranche 10 had received 7,906 applications and that applications across the first ten tranches totalled 59,302. For that tranche, the Department applied different selection percentages by scheme: it selected 100% of eligible Farm Safety applications, while the published percentages included 60% for several schemes, 50% for Tillage and 10% for Dairy Equipment. Those figures describe the selection decision for Tranche 10 only; they are not the grant-aid rates and do not predict what a later tranche will approve.

Confirm the Current Tranche Before Committing Money

The same announcement listed 4 December 2026 as the closing date for Tranche 14. Because dates and selection rules can be revised, confirm the current closing date and the tranche-specific notice on the Department’s TAMS 3 page before submitting. The Department’s Tranche 10 announcement is the source for the historical figures above.

Before applying, check applicant eligibility, the exact item code and specification, reference costs, required quotes, planning documents and any priority criteria. Do not order or start work until the applicable terms allow it and written approval is in place. Keep the application, approval, invoices, proof of payment and required photographs together; payment claims depend on meeting the documented conditions.
